"Synopsis:
A witty and entertaining comedy/drama about a group of West Hollywood
gay boys.
Review: In
his feature film debut, writer-director Berlanti (co-executive
producer of "Dawson’s Creek") has crafted a funny, touching slice-of-life
portrait on the lives, loves and dramas of a group of gay West
Hollywood friends. The characters include Dennis (Olyphant), a
promising photographer and his often dysfunctional friends: his
housemate Cole (Cain), a charming man-stealing actor; Benji (Braff),
a punkish gym bunny fancier; analytical grad student Howie (McGrath);
cynical quipster Patrick (Weber) and his lesbian sister whose
lover (Long) wants his sperm; Taylor (Porter) whose long-term
relationship goes on the rocks. They all hang out together at
a restaurant run by the group’s unofficial patriarch, Jack (Mahoney)
and play together on a softball team coached by Jack (a part-time
drag performer). Drama abound especially when Cole seduces and
abandons the fragile, just-out-of-the-closet Kevin (Keegan) leaving
Dennis to help pick up Kevin’s emotional pieces. A witty and entertaining
comedy-drama that offers an attractive cast and a touching story
of gay men’s romances and friendship." TLA

It's
My Party: This movie is awesome. A true drama about
love, life, dying and death. Be sure to watch this movie with
someone, as it is a tear jerker and VERY powerful. "Poignant
melodrama about an AIDS-infected architect throwing one last bash
before committing suicide. Drama fans will enjoy Roberts' restrained
performance, fine supporting cast, and flashes of humor in this
tearjerker " TLA Video |

Lilies:
"Lilies is a wonderfully written masterpiece that offers beautiful
boys, beautiful bodies & beautiful cinematography along with
an incredibly moving tragedy that warms your heart & bares your
soul. Based on the play by Michael-March Bouchard, the story opens
with a bishop who thinks he has been called in to hear a dying man's
confession. Instead, he finds himself being taken hostage
by a prisoner & his fellow inmates. Under his captive eye, they
begin to reenact a tense & suspenseful story of unrequited love
& youthful betrayal. LILIES is the winner of 4 Genie Awards
including Best Motion Picture & an official selection of the
Sundance Film Festival, but above all LILIES is a truly great
film." TLA Video

Big
Eden: " This warm and cuddly new film tells a traditional tale
of the triangulated relationship with several new spins. There's
the gay artist Henry Hart; he loves the waspishly handsome and sexually
confused Dean Stewart; and then there’s Pike who pines secretly
for Henry. Twenty years ago a gay romance set in a small town would
have been unthinkable - now it's celebrated in Thomas Bezucha's
debut film, Big Eden. In fact, it seems a little far fetched that
these small town residents would be so comfortable with gay romance.
Our story begins when Henry is called back to his hometown, Big
Eden, Montana, after his grandfather falls ill. Once there, he reunites
with Dean, his high school crush, whose conflicted heterosexuality
motivated Henry’s fleeing and years of therapy. While this old crush
flares again, the quiet, shy Native American owner of Big Eden’s
general store, Pike Dexter, has his eyes on the big-city returnee.
Pike teaches himself to cook and starts preparing gourmet meals
for the recuperating grand-dad and the desired grandson. Rich, funny,
but never cartoonish performances are delivered by Arye Gross as
Henry, Eric Schweig as Pike, and Louise Fletcher (Nurse Ratched
from One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest) doing a wonderful turn as Grace,
a family friend. A fine film with a great, big heart - but it's
really a fairy tale." TLA Video

And
the Band Played On: A great movie... "Made-for-cable,
star-studded drama traces efforts by poorly funded scientific team
that discovered the AIDS virus. This compelling, hard-hitting film
is recommended for drama fans who appreciate historically significant,
true-life stories." TLA Video

Another
fun movie. LOL, damn Tori Spelling is so annoying but that's the
part she's supposed to play :) "The
tables are turned on the typical gay film plot in this funny and
romantic screwball comedy. Gabriel (Campbell), a cute, effervescent
music composer, and Mark (Pitoc), a darkly handsome go-go boy,
lock eyes and long to link loins but through a series of events
just can't seem to ever be alone long enough to get it on. What
would have been a quickie turns instead into an instance for the
two men to get to know each other. They spend the day enduring
intrusions, visited by friends and separated by ex-lovers and
future ex-lovers. In a cinematic gay world of cookie-cutter plots,
trick's seductive tale offers a fresh and exciting alternative,
and one that speaks truths on love and relationships no matter
what the sexual orientation. In support, Spelling is quite memorable
as Gabriel's bulldozing actress/singer-wannabe best friend. Her
table-side rant is hilarious. A beguiling romantic comedy which
manages to capture both romance and comedy.
Stars: Christian Campbell, John
Paul Pitoc, Tori Spelling, Steve Hayes, Clinton Leupp (aka: Miss
Coco Peru), Lorri Bagley, Kevin Chamberlin, Missi Pyle, Lacey
